Holiday Inn Express & Suites - Murphysboro - Carbondale, an IHG Hotel

This was my first time staying at this hotel. And I would gladly stay here again! It's a nice, clean hotel in a good location! The staff was pleasant and helpful! While hotels usually have a waffle maker, this is the first one I've seen with a pancake maker!! And turkey sausage (daily) for us non-pork eaters!! Win, win, win!

It was really clean and new, staff was nice. Bathroom was clean and had plenty of towels as well as shampoo, conditioner and body wash dispensers.. Had a fridge and microwave. Bed was very comfortable. TV did go out a couple of time but may have been weather related. Not long enough for us to complain. Breakfast was good. They had eggs, biscuits and gravy, cinnamon rolls, cereal and juice etc. The juice machine had accumulated a bunch of liquid and spilled onto floor. Once staff was told they immediately cleaned it up. There was a large group there, I think maybe a wedding and there was plenty of room and food for breakfast. Very good visit, highly recommended.

The hotel was brand new. The room was clean and modern. the breakfast was good.

The breakfast choices were great, the whole hotel was very clean, and the staff was friendly.

Breakfast is horrible. Sausage stiff, dried out and not meaty at all. Might as well not serve scrambled eggs. They are not eatable. Virtually all scrambled eggs at hotels are horrible. Serve real eggs or don’t serve any at all.
